Is MapZap free to play?
Yes. The Daily Challenge, duels, local play, Blitz and the first campaign chapters are free, supported by ads. MapZap Pro is optional: it removes ads and unlocks the full campaign and every theme world. Nothing you buy gives you a gameplay edge.
Is MapZap like GeoGuessr?
It shares the best part: you drop a pin and get scored by distance. Instead of a Street View panorama you get a clue, a landmark, a fact or a photo, so a round takes about ten seconds and works on a phone. There is no subscription needed to play. See our list of free games like GeoGuessr.
What do I actually learn?
Where more than a thousand places are, from the Eiffel Tower to the Great Barrier Reef, plus every country, its flag and its capital. The campaign mixes all four so a level never feels like a flashcard deck, and Learn mode shows you which ones you keep missing.
Which devices and languages?
iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets. The app is in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Dutch.
Can I play with friends?
Yes. Challenge a friend to a live duel, get matched against a real opponent, or pass one device around with up to eight players in local play, no account or internet needed.
Is it good for kids and families?
MapZap is rated 12+. There is no open chat, no timers you cannot beat, and no pay to win. Younger players do well in local play with an adult on the same device.
